"Summer Parties in Kaohsiung"

Media Reception 2017

Hong Kong and Macao are Kaohsiung’s second largest source of international visitors, just after Japan. According to Taiwan Ministry of Transportation and Communications, up to 190,000 visitors from Hong Kong and Macao came to Kaohsiung as of April 2017, 72% more than last year.

In view of this rapid increase, the Director of Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau, taking the theme of "Summer Parties in Kaohsiung,” led 5 Kaohsiung star units, popular Hong Kong illustrators JieJie & UncleCat (爵爵與貓叔)who once lived in Taiwan, and 18 hospitality industry representatives to HK, to hold a fair to promote tourism in Kaohsiung, showing the city’s beautiful scenery and delicious food at once to the press and the industry counterparts there.

ViAsia PR helped to invite & pitch media from HK and Macau, manage the media reception and follow up with media features.  The media reception got a full house.  Numerous media interacted with the participated star units and experienced the Kaohsiung street cuisine.  The Director of Kaohsiung Tourism Board even sang a song with media leading to the climax of the event.

Massive media coverage was reached immediately after the reception, including social media like Open Rice and KOLs (travel).
